Robyn
Friend was born in
Melbourne in 1942
and now lives in Tasmania where she teaches creative writing and works
as a community oral historian. In 2002, Friend spent time in India as
part of a writer’s residency funded by Arts Tasmania and the
Australia
Council. Friend has written in the genres of biography and oral
history, reviews, essays and poetry. Her books include the
controversial
Eva (1985),
Fancy
Seeing You Here (1989),
We
Who Are Not Here – Aboriginal people of the Huon and Channel
Today
(1992) and numerous short stories, articles and reviews. She has two
sons and a ginger cat called Lil.
The
Butterfly Stalker is her second novel and was published in
2003.
