David Cohen was born in
Perth, Western Australia, and now lives in Melbourne. His short fiction
has appeared in
HQ,
Meanjin,
Metro,
Space: New Writing
and
Westerly
and in the anthologies
Sibling
Stories (1997),
The
2001 Glen Eira Literary Awards Anthology and
Allnighter (2006).
He won the HQ/Flamingo Short Story Prize in 1999. He has co-written
Surfin’ Girlfriend,
a musical comedy for the stage, and his short television script
Forbidden Fruit
was screened on 11 October 2007 as part of SBS’s Marx and Venus
series.
Fear of Tennis
won a Varuna Award for Manuscript Development in 2002. He is currently
writing a second novel.
